Bathukamma Veduka


It is common practice to offer prayers to deities by adorning the idols by various flowers. But only in Telangana State, you find the unique festival called “Bathukamma” where flowers are placed in a circle manner and worshiped as Goddess Bathukamma. Since the formation of Telangana as 29th State of India, Bathukamma Festival is celebrated with the status of State Festival across Telangana. This colorful floral festival is celebrated all across Telangana and other parts of world where Telangana citizen reside. Bathukamma festival is observed with lot of devotion and fervor by people of the state for 9 days by celebrating Bathukamma with different names:

  • Day 1: Angili Pula Bhathukamma
  • Day 2: Attukula Bhathukamma
  • Day 3: Muddappappu Bhathukamma
  • Day 4: Nanbiyyam Bhathukamma
  • Day 5: Atla Bhathukamma
  • Day 6: Aligina Bhathukamma (Alaka Bhathukamma)
  • Day 7: Vepakayala Bhathukamma
  • Day 8: Venna Muddala Bhathukamma
  • Day 9: Saddula Bhathukamma
